| Lifetime of Static climbing ropes |
| Product
lifetime depends on the frequency and the type of use. A rope could incur irreparable damage due to use at any moment in its lifetime. Avoid all abrasive material and influences, mechanical contact (sharp edges) and contact with chemicals (acids, petrochemicals, etc) . Damage may not be apparent at first sight when the fibres in the rope's core are affected. Testing of individual ropes is needed. Average service life : - intensive use : 3 months up to 1 year - normal use : 2 to 3 years - occasional use : 4 to 5 years In any case, the lifetime of a rope must never exceed 5 years. |
